Job Description:
The Data Analyst will play an active role in defining, implementing, and supporting new data products across Gen II Fund Services, LLC’s platform. Sitting within the Data Product team and reporting to the Head of Data Product, this role is central to translating business requirements into scalable, well-structured data solutions that serve both internal stakeholders and client-facing platforms.
The ideal candidate brings analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and a bias toward building - someone who is energized by taking a data product from concept through to delivery and wants to grow within a team at the forefront of Gen II Fund Services, LLC’s data transformation agenda.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Product Definition & Requirements
- Partner with business, technology, and client service stakeholders to define requirements for new data products, translating operational needs into clear data specifications.
- Document data product logic, definitions, business rules, and workflows to ensure consistency, auditability, and scalability.
- Contribute to the prioritization and roadmap of data product initiatives by providing analytical input on feasibility, data availability, and expected impact.
Implementation & Development
- Work closely with engineering and platform teams to implement new data products, supporting data modelling, transformation logic, and validation.
- Validate data outputs against source systems and business requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness before go-live.
- Support integration of new data sources — including structured outputs from AI-powered document intelligence platforms — into downstream systems such as Snowflake.
- Evaluate and integrate outputs from AI/ML models into downstream data pipelines and products, applying a critical eye toward accuracy, completeness, and data quality.
Product Support & Iteration
- Respond to data questions and investigations from internal teams, providing clear and well-documented findings.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of existing data products based on stakeholder feedback and evolving business requirements.
- Support the development of BI dashboards and self-service analytics layers that sit on top of data products.
Job Requirements, Skills, Education and Experience:
Required:
- 2–5 years of experience in a data analyst or data product role within financial services, fund administration, or a similarly complex data environment.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to the definition and delivery of data products or analytical solutions, not just consuming data.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their practical application in data product development — including experience working with or alongside AI-powered data extraction, classification, or enrichment tools.
- Comfort evaluating and integrating outputs from AI/ML models into downstream data pipelines and products, with a critical eye toward accuracy, completeness, and data quality.
- Strong documentation skills — able to clearly articulate data logic, business rules, and product specifications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborative working style with the ability to manage multiple workstreams across cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical, or business-related field.
Desired:
- Proficiency in SQL and comfort working within cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
- Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation and modeling tools.
- Working knowledge of private equity fund structures — capital activity, general ledger, allocations, and investor reporting.
- Experience supporting client-facing data products or embedded analytics environments.
- Familiarity with ILPA reporting standards or PE-specific data structures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $135,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offered within that range will depend on the candidate’s experience level.
Work Arrangement
All applicants applying to Gen II Fund Services, LLC must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note that all US employees are required to work a hybrid schedule, comprised of three (3) days a week in our office and two (2) days remotely.
