Position Summary
The Carlyle Group's Enterprise AI team within Enterprise Tech & Data (Global Technology & Solutions) is seeking a forward-thinking, technically fluent Senior AI Product Manager to support the strategy, platform management, and enablement programs of the Enterprise AI team. The Enterprise AI team serves as Carlyle's central function for enterprise-wide AI tooling, governance, training, and solution development. The team owns the full lifecycle of the firm's enterprise AI productivity and coding platforms, from vendor evaluation and security governance through pilot, deployment, and ongoing adoption, and leads structured enablement programs and the Citizen Developer Program.
The team's platform scope spans enterprise AI productivity solutions (including, but not limited to, Claude Chat, ChatGPT Enterprise, M365 Copilot, and Perplexity) and AI coding solutions (including, but not limited to, Claude Code, Cursor, Lovable, and OpenAI Codex). The team partners closely with Legal & Compliance, Security, Data Science, and business vertical technology teams to ensure governed, scalable AI adoption across the firm.
This role will report to the Principal, Head of Enterprise Productivity Solutions and will work across a highly collaborative, cross-functional team environment. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and team player with executive presence, business acumen, and hands-on experience with AI productivity and coding platforms in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Experience in financial services or alternative investments is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate combines strong product instincts with genuine hands-on technical capability, including the ability to prototype, build, and iterate on AI-powered solutions directly rather than solely managing their development

Primary Responsibilities
AI Strategy & Product Leadership
- Support the definition and execution of the Enterprise AI team roadmap, identifying and prioritizing high-impact AI use cases across business verticals and translating them into actionable product and solution plans.
- Stay current on the rapidly evolving AI landscape, including developments from key AI labs, emerging platforms, and new capabilities relevant to Carlyle's use cases and strategic priorities.
- Partner with business users, vertical tech teams, and the Data Science team to surface, scope, and prioritize AI opportunities that deliver measurable business value.
Solution Design & Development
- Demonstrate hands-on technical proficiency in designing and building AI-powered solutions from concept through production, including use case applications, dashboards, operationalizing workflows or frameworks, agents, and Skills, leveraging Carlyle's enterprise AI platform capabilities.
- Lead end-to-end solution delivery: prototype and test concepts, vet approaches with stakeholders, coordinate security and compliance review, pilot with users, and productionize and maintain solutions once deployed.
- Own the ongoing quality, iteration, and performance of solutions post-launch, incorporating user feedback and usage data to continuously improve outcomes.
- Collaborate with business users and vertical tech teams as appropriate to co-develop solutions that address real workflow needs, ensuring what gets built is practical, scalable, and aligned to firm standards.
Enterprise AI Platform Management
- Support the ownership and management of enterprise AI platforms, covering both productivity and coding solutions, across their full lifecycle from evaluation through deployment and ongoing adoption.
- Manage vendor relationships across key AI lab partners and AI vendors, tracking roadmap developments, identifying new capabilities, and exploring emerging AI tools and startups relevant to Carlyle's use cases.
- Ensure platforms are aligned with enterprise architecture, governance standards, and user needs, driving measurable adoption and value.
- Serve as a knowledgeable advisor to teams across the firm on what AI platforms and capabilities are available in the enterprise stack, guiding teams toward existing solutions before introducing new tooling and maintaining a financially responsible, non-redundant portfolio.
Training, Enablement & Adoption
- Support and help execute the soon to be launched "Empower AI" program, including firmwide AI training, communications, and enablement initiatives that build AI fluency and confidence across Carlyle employees.
- Contribute to the Citizen Developer Program, supporting structured pathways that empower employees to build their own AI-powered capabilities within enterprise guardrails.
- Serve as a trusted partner to business users, vertical tech teams, and the Data Science team, helping identify workflows and use cases where AI can drive meaningful value.
- Drive adoption of enterprise AI platforms through proactive training, communications, and user engagement, promoting a culture of responsible AI experimentation.
- Help drive the usage and adoption data infrastructure for enterprise AI platforms, analyzing metrics to derive insights, identify gaps, and drive depth of adoption, moving beyond breadth of access toward demonstrable efficiency gains, time savings, and ROI.
- Regularly report on platform adoption, usage trends, and outcomes to the Enterprise AI team lead and GTS leadership, using data to inform prioritization and demonstrate business value.
Governance & Delivery Oversight
- Ensure adherence to Carlyle's AI governance policies, working with Legal & Compliance and Security to coordinate tool evaluation, pilot structuring, security review, and ongoing policy compliance across the platform portfolio.
- Help manage delivery timelines, backlog prioritization, and release planning for Enterprise AI team initiatives.
- Communicate platform status, initiative progress, and strategic value to the Enterprise AI team lead and broader GTS leadership as needed.
Requirements
Education & Certificates
- Bachelor's degree required;
- Advanced degree or certifications in AI, Computer Science, or Product Management is a plus.
Professional Experience
- 8+ years of overall relevant technical experience, required
- Experience in product management, product ownership, or a technical role with significant product responsibility within a complex enterprise environment, including demonstrated hands-on technical contributions, preferred
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI platforms and/or AI coding tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, OpenAI Codex or comparable solutions in an enterprise setting.
- Demonstrated ability to write code and build working prototypes independently, including proficiency in Python or a comparable scripting language commonly used in AI development contexts.
- Practical experience with AI APIs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI), prompt engineering, and agent or workflow design, with the ability to move from concept to working proof-of-concept without engineering support.
- Proven ability to identify and develop AI use cases that drive measurable value for enterprise users and business teams.
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, security review processes, and vendor compliance in a regulated financial services environment.
- Experience designing or delivering AI training programs, enablement content, or change management initiatives for enterprise audiences.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Copilot, SharePoint, and the broader Microsoft AI ecosystem.
- Experience building internal tooling, dashboards, or automation workflows using APIs, scripting, or low-code/no-code platforms in an enterprise environment.
- Experience in financial services, asset management, or alternative investments.

Benefits/Compensation
The compensation range for this role is specific to New York, NY and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications.
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $180,000 to $200,000.

Additionally, the hired professional may also be eligible to participate in an annual discretionary incentive program, the award of which will be dependent on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
