Associate, Client Solutions - SLC Management
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU:
The SLC Management Client Solutions sits across the entire SLC platform, and helps drive the growth of our fixed income, real estate, and infrastructure business by developing investment solutions for institutional clients. These are key strategic areas of focus at SLC Management.
We are hiring an Associate in our Client Solutions team in Montreal, Canada, reporting to the Managing Director. The successful candidate will play an integral role in developing and presenting custom fixed income and real asset solutions to pension plan clients and prospects, and researching and developing insights and thought leadership that will be used to help our clients and to build SLC’s brand. The successful candidate will work across a variety of asset classes, and collaborate with senior portfolio managers, client relationship and business development executives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- CUSTOM SOLUTION CREATION: Develop tailored investment solutions that help clients and prospects achieve their strategic objectives by leveraging SLC Management's broad investment capabilities. Examples include liability-driven investing (LDI) mandates, strategic asset allocation studies, and custom portfolio strategies for pension plans, insurance companies, and other institutional investors.
- BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT: Support the business development team through meeting attendance and the preparation of client illustrations, marketing material and responses to RFPs that highlight the additional value that can be achieved through our solutions.
- CROSS-GEOGRAPHY COLLABORATION: Work closely with the broader North American Client Solutions team, ensuring consistency in approach and collaborating on cross border initiatives.
- STRATEGIC PROJECTS: Participate in innovative strategic projects that expand or refine our existing investment toolkit.
- RESEARCH: Maintain our industry leading solutions through the incorporation of global best practices, innovations, and client feedback
- RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Build strong working relationships with our various stakeholders, including Portfolio Management and Business Development
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or a related field; progress toward a CFA, CAIA, FRM, or actuarial designation is an asset.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in asset management, institutional investing, pension consulting, insurance asset management, investment consulting, or a related analytical role.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Understanding of institutional investment concepts, including strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, and performance measurement.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to balance priorities and manage tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, VBA, R, or other analytical tools is an asset.
