Position: Senior Associate, Portfolio Strategy & Analytics (Private Credit)
The mandate of Portfolio Strategy & Analytics (PS&A) is to improve outcomes for Northleaf’s investors through effective portfolio construction and risk management of our private markets funds. Reporting to the Director, Portfolio Strategy & Analytics, the successful candidate will be a key member of the PS&A team, focused on Northleaf’s private credit investment strategy.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will take on meaningful responsibility within a small and high-performing team. Success in this role demands a combination of intellectual curiosity, strong analytical skills, and enthusiasm for problem solving to drive insights that enable better decision-making and investor outcomes.
Responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining ownership, with support, of portfolio construction and fund management activities for Northleaf’s private credit funds
- Conducting reviews of Northleaf’s private credit portfolios, including assessment of performance, risk, and go-forward portfolio strategy
- Building and maintaining fund models – and conducting additional analyses – that inform decision-making across Northleaf’s private credit funds
- Conducting research and developing insights that support the development of new investment funds
- Investor-facing activities, including provision of responses to investor diligence inquiries, conducting analysis to support external communications, and selective participation in client meetings
Qualifications
- 4-6+ years of experience, preferably in private credit or other alternative asset classes, investment or corporate banking, financial services, or management consulting
- Advanced financial modeling capabilities; and comfortable working with large data sets and utilizing AI tools in order to generate insights that inform decision-making
- Highly self-motivated, proactive problem-solver who thinks critically and challenges assumptions with rationale as appropriate
- Able to manage multiple priorities with high degree of attention to detail
- Crisp verbal and written communication skills
