Federated Hermes is seeking an Accounting Systems Manager within our Corporate Accounting Group, responsible for the governance, management, and continuous optimization of the organization’s Oracle cloud-based ERP environment. This position supports the full breadth of Oracle modules used across global accounting operations and serves as a primary point of expertise for system integrity, SOX compliance, and cross-functional stakeholder support.
As the organization transitions from its U.S.-centric legacy Oracle on-premises platform to a global cloud-based ERP, this role will be instrumental in driving successful implementation, managing quarterly system updates, and ensuring the long-term stability and effectiveness of the accounting systems environment. The ideal candidate brings a proven combination of accounting-process knowledge, Oracle Cloud ERP implementation experience, hands-on testing discipline, and the ability to serve as an effective liaison between Accounting, IT, and implementation partners.
What You’ll Do:
Oracle Accounting Systems Manager
The Oracle Accounting Systems Manager oversees the governance, administration, and optimization of the Oracle Cloud ERP environment supporting global accounting operations. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for system integrity, SOX compliance, financial reporting, and cross-functional support.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Data Management (EDM): Maintain the chart of accounts and general ledger structure, manage account dimensions, and coordinate account updates to ensure reporting and compliance alignment.
- Risk Management & SOX Compliance: Monitor user access, segregation of duties, and security roles; identify and resolve control issues while ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
- Reporting: Develop and maintain financial and operational reports using Oracle reporting tools, validate data accuracy, and support reporting enhancements.
- Financial Consolidation & Close (FCCS): Management of consolidation-related activities including intercompany eliminations, oversight of the close process, and maintenance of ownership structure changes.
- Account Reconciliation (ARCS): Oversee balance sheet reconciliations including maintenance of new account mappings, and monitoring data integrity.
- FreeForm Module: Oversight and support of the FreeForm module including maintenance, issue resolution, and enhancements.
- System Integrations: Monitor ERP integrations with third-party systems, resolve interface issues, ensure data accuracy, and collaborate with IT and vendors.
- Implementation & Testing: Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and IT on system implementations, requirements gathering, testing (UAT/SIT), data migration validation, and post-go-live support.
- Quarterly Oracle Updates: Lead impact assessments, testing, deployment, and stakeholder communication for Oracle Cloud releases.
- Documentation & Training: Maintain process documentation, SOPs, training materials, validation records, and project support documentation.
The Expertise We are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 5+ years of experience in Oracle ERP accounting systems support, implementation, or a combined functional/technical finance role
- Strong accounting-process knowledge across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Projects and Cash Management
- Demonstrated experience with UAT, SIT, integration testing, defect tracking, and go-live readiness in Oracle Cloud ERP programs
- Proficiency in financial data validation, reporting and reconciliation using Narrative, OTBI, BI Publisher, Smart View, and Excel
- Experience with data migration activities including FBDI, ADFdi, data cleansing, data mapping, and legacy-to-cloud validation
- Demonstrated experience with SOX compliance, user access controls, and segregation of duties frameworks
- Strong documentation skills including SOPs, process flows, test scripts, and training materials
- CPA Preferred
