Credit Research Analyst – US Non-Bank Financials

Team Overview
Schroders manages over GBP75bn in global fixed income alpha strategies, with credit at the core of our approach. In addition, Schroders oversee around GBP200bn in solutions mandates, approximately half of which are allocated to fixed income and credit. Our Global Credit Research platform, which plays a key role in within the fixed income platform, is centralized in three key hubs—New York, London, and Singapore.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Credit Research Analyst to join our Global Fixed Income Research team in New York. The successful candidate will contribute differentiated credit insights focused on US non-bank Financials. The person will contribute to a team approach and will work extensively with portfolio managers, other analysts and support teams in NY and London and Asia.
Objective
To create forward-looking, non-consensus research that delivers alpha to Schroders’ fixed income portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Perform fundamental analysis and financial modelling across covered names
- Monitor performance and holdings relative to investment objectives, benchmarks and outlook
- Provide opinions/reports on relative value analysis including buy/sell recommendations to the investment team and to the global credit research team
- Provide ESG ratings for credits under coverage
- Collaborate with other debt and equity analysts and portfolio managers as the credit expert on the covered industries
- Frequently interact with portfolio managers and traders
Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree
- Proven ability to form and communicate differentiated investment views
- Personable and team oriented
- Familiarity with market and research tools such as Excel, Bloomberg, PowerPoint, Capital IQ
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- CFA or CPA
- Up to 5 years research experience at a buy side or sell side institution
- Experience analyzing HY/IG non-bank financials
- Exposure to technical or programming skills
- Experience with Aladdin and other industry-standard platforms
- Established network across sell side, buy side, or issuer communities
- Demonstrated willingness to take on new sector coverage as needed
Compensation
Schroders offers a base salary of $120-$150,000 for this position.
This range reflects the Company’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.
