Job Overview
CenterSquare Investment Management offers a dynamic opportunity for an early-career professional to develop as an investor on its Listed Real Estate Securities team. The Analyst will be fully integrated into the investment process, partnering with Portfolio Managers and Senior Analysts to evaluate publicly traded real estate companies through fundamental research, financial modeling, and valuation analysis. The role includes ongoing coverage of a portfolio of real estate companies, direct engagement with management teams, property visits, and industry research, with the goal of building sector expertise and contributing meaningfully to investment recommendations, stock selection, and portfolio construction over time. This is a foundational role designed for a highly analytical, intellectually curious professional eager to build a career in real estate investment management. The position will be based in CenterSquare's Conshohocken, PA office.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Research & Analysis:
- Build and maintain financial models, valuations, and forecasts for assigned securities.
- Analyze company filings, earnings releases, and market data to identify investment opportunities and risks.
- Develop and refine investment theses across REIT sectors and listed real estate companies.
- Conduct fundamental research to support investment decisions and portfolio positioning.
Company Coverage & Industry Research
- Maintain ongoing coverage of 20–30 publicly traded real estate companies, including regular engagement with management teams and investor relations professionals.
- Conduct company meetings, property tours, and field research to gain insights into business performance and market dynamics.
- Attend industry conferences and other relevant events to enhance market knowledge and identify emerging trends.
- Monitor macroeconomic conditions, real estate fundamentals, and capital markets activity to inform sector and company outlooks.
Portfolio Management Support
- Partner with Portfolio Managers to support investment decision-making and portfolio construction activities.
- Present research findings, investment recommendations, and sector perspectives in both written and verbal formats.
- Assist in evaluating portfolio holdings and potential investments to ensure alignment with investment objectives.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate research findings clearly and concisely in written memos, models, and team presentations
- Collaborate closely with a high-performing investment team in a rigorous and intellectually curious environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a major in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field
- 0-5 years of experience in investment management or a highly analytical role
- Strong interest in investing, financial markets, and real estate
- Demonstrated analytical and financial modeling skills; proficiency in Excel required
- High level of intellectual curiosity with strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- CFA preferred, or willingness to pursue the CFA Charter
