Job Summary
The Business Development Representative II - Data & Analytics is responsible for generating qualified sales opportunities through targeted outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and pipeline development, with a particular focus on data, analytics, and technology-driven use cases within private markets.
The role engages prospective clients around challenges including fragmented data, manual reporting, system integration, data accessibility, and analytics. Working closely with Account Executives and other sales partners, the BDR II develops an understanding of prospective clients’ data environments, identifies potential business and technical pain points, and connects those needs to Allvue’s broader data and analytics capabilities.
Responsibilities
Pipeline Developing & Prospecting
- Identify and engage prospective customers through targeted outbound prospecting across email, phone, professional networking platforms, and other channels.
- Generate qualified sales opportunities by engaging relevant business and technology stakeholders and scheduling introductory meetings for Account Executives.
- Develop targeted outreach based on a prospect’s technology environment, data strategy, reporting requirements, and operational challenges.
- Maintain consistent pipeline activity aligned with defined sales development and pipeline-generation targets.
Data-Focused Discovery & Lead Qualification
- Conduct initial qualification conversations to understand prospective clients’ business needs, technology environment, and readiness for engagement.
- Identify common data and analytics challenges, including fragmented systems, manual data aggregation, reporting inefficiencies, data accessibility, integration requirements, and limited analytics capabilities.
- Develop familiarity with private-markets data workflows and communicate effectively with both business and technology-oriented stakeholders.
- Research target accounts to understand existing technology ecosystems, data infrastructure, organizational priorities, and potential use cases.
- Document relevant business requirements, technology considerations, prospect insights, and qualification details within CRM systems.
Sales Coordination & Reporting
- Partner with Account Executives to support territory prospecting strategies and opportunity development.
- Track prospect interactions, activity metrics, and pipeline progress within CRM platforms.
- Provide regular activity and pipeline reporting to support sales performance reviews.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with prospective clients in a professional B2B environment.
- Strong analytical curiosity and an ability to understand how data, systems, and business processes interact.
- Ability to learn and communicate technology concepts in clear, business-oriented language.
- Ability to operate independently within defined sales processes while consistently achieving activity and pipeline targets.
- Interest in private markets, financial technology, data infrastructure, analytics, or enterprise software.
Technical & Systems Proficiency
- CRM platforms such as Salesforce or equivalent - working proficiency.
- Sales engagement platforms such as Outreach, SalesLoft, or similar - working proficiency.
- Microsoft Excel or equivalent - working proficiency.
- Familiarity with data and analytics concepts, including databases, data warehouses, APIs, business intelligence, reporting, or cloud data platforms - preferred.
Experience
- 1-3 years in business development, sales development, data or technology consulting, financial technology, analytics, or another relevant customer-facing role.
- Experience working with or selling technology, data, analytics, financial services, or enterprise software preferred.
- Exposure to private equity, private credit, fund administration, asset management, or broader private capital markets is advantageous but not required.
Education/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field preferred.
