Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Director of Finance to help lead and evolve the firm's financial management, business decision support, and strategic finance capabilities. Reporting to the Head of Finance & Accounting, this individual will partner closely with business leaders to provide actionable financial insights, support strategic initiatives, evaluate business performance, provide proactive FP&A analysis, and help drive long-term value creation across the firm.
The Director of Finance role will play a key role in overseeing financial planning and analysis, pricing and fee strategy, profitability assessment, resource allocation and business case evaluation. This role is designed to strengthen Finance's ability to proactively identify risks and opportunities, model financial outcomes across multiple scenarios, and provide senior management with timely, data-driven recommendations to make informed decisions.
The Director of Finance will oversee the FP&A function, manage and develop the FP&A Manager and Finance Data Analyst, and help elevate the analytical capabilities, rigor, and scalability of the broader Finance organization.
This role is based in our office in Boston, Massachusetts. You are required to follow the firm’s policy on in-office attendance. Our current policy requires in-office attendance on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and then provides an option to work remotely on Monday and Friday. Please note that Geode may modify this policy at any time.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the firm’s budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling processes.
- Develop forward-looking analyses to identify financial risks, opportunities, and cost exposures proactively.
- Partner with senior leadership to evaluate business performance, strategic initiatives, hiring plans, technology investments, and resource allocation through scenario modeling and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform management fee, pricing, and profitability analyses across investment strategies, and products.
- Evaluate the financial implications of different fee structures, asset levels and growth scenarios.
- Provide effective review, oversight, and mentorship to direct reports to ensure high-quality analytical outputs.
- Enhance management reporting, dashboards, and key performance indicators to improve transparency and decision making.
- Support executive management with Board, leadership, and stakeholders reporting on financial performance and strategic priorities.
- Drive improvements in financial planning, reporting, data analytics, automation, and business intelligence capabilities across the Finance function.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant FP&A responsibility and experience.
- Experience within asset management, investment management, financial services, or a similarly complex financial environment.
- Demonstrated success leading budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and financial modeling processes.
- Advanced financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
- Exceptional Excel, financial systems, and data analysis skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Detail-oriented while maintaining a focus on the broader business objectives.
