Position Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION
Jefferies is seeking a senior associate for its Machinery / Diversified Industrials / Distributors Research team. The candidate will support the team in writing extensive company and industry research, constructing detailed company financial models, and marketing written research recommendations to clients and institutional salespeople.
Responsibilities Include
- Write research publications on industry trends and covered stocks
- Create and maintain earnings and valuation models
- Update financial models for earnings, M&A and other events
- Develop industry sources, analyze industry trends and compile findings
- Independently produce periodical industry data updates
- Produce marketing materials for clients
- Attend company events, industry conferences, and trade shows
- Develop relationships with management teams and industry contacts
- Over time, communicate team’s stock views and industry themes to institutional investors, trading desks, and other internal constituencies within Jefferies
Key Qualifications
- Strong work ethic, creativity and intellectual curiosity
- Highly detail-oriented, demonstrated focus on accuracy
- Superior financial statement modeling skills with demonstrated self-auditing abilities
- Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
- Ability to independently conduct research on topics of interest and present them to the group
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- 2-3 yrs. of experience in investment banking, equity research, accounting, journalism or related fields
- Experience analyzing industrial end markets a plus
- Familiarity with data analytics and/or statistics strongly preferred
- Undergraduate background in finance, accounting, or journalism / English majors with strong analytical skills
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $135,000 - $165,000.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications.
