Join Barclays as a VP – Business Control Partner, Risk Solutions Group, where you will play a pivotal role in supporting the GTC CCO Lead to maintain a robust and business‑aligned risk and control environment across the Risk Solutions Group (RSG). You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, COO teams, and control partners to embed first‑line accountability, strengthen governance disciplines, and ensure consistent application of the control framework. This includes providing thoughtful oversight and task on risk identification, issues management, and control effectiveness, while contributing to senior governance forums with clear, insight‑driven perspectives. You will also lead targeted deep dives into emerging risk themes, delivering actionable assessments that helps identify and mitigate control weaknesses across the organization.
To be successful in your role as VP – Business Control Partner – Risk Solutions Group you should have:
- Considerable first line of defence (1LoD) Risk and Control experience within Investment Banking, with demonstrated understanding of conduct, supervision, and governance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business and senior stakeholders to drive remediation influence outcomes, and embed sustainable control improvements
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational and execution skills, including experience in issue management, RCSA, and control monitoring
Other Highly Valued Skills Include
- Solid understanding of Investment Banking products, derivatives, hedging practices and associated end-to-end risks and controls (particularly within coverage businesses)
- Prior experience synthesizing data to support management materials and to drive effective discussion and outcomes
- The ability to drive workstreams, conduct deep‑dive evaluations, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations

Minimum Salary: $135,000.00
Maximum Salary: $200,000.00

Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.
Accountabilities
- Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk
- Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
- Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank’s control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.
- Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.
- Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.
