Conning is seeking a high-impact team member to support our Insurance Research and Solutions platform, working closely with senior leaders across insurance research and insurance solutions, and driving broader collaboration across the organization.
This role is designed for a future leader of the business. This professional will be exposed to Conning’s intellectual capital, client engagement model, and strategic priorities across the research and solutions team engagement with internal and external clients. This employee will play a central role in driving operational excellence, enhancing cross-team coordination, and scaling the impact of our research and solutions offering.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of operational rigor, industry experience, strategic thinking, and possesses the ability to both shape direction and drive execution. You will gain broad exposure across Conning’s research, solutions, and client-facing functions; direct engagement with senior leaders and key internal clients; the opportunity to shape the evolution of Conning’s Insurance Research and Solutions platform. The ideal candidate will take ownership in short order of key functions across the research and solutions team at Conning and as such be well positioned to transition into a leadership role.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Business Execution
- Partner with leadership to define and advance the strategic roadmap for Insurance Research & Solutions
- Formalize business reporting (financial, pipeline, client management) and support regular KPI reporting to track performance and business growth
- Supervise and improve workflow for publication and commercialization efforts of the team's capabilities
- Prepare materials to enhance internal communication and alignment among team leaders and members
Client Management
- Oversee execution of legal contracts, renewal management, and client billing
- Coordinate and oversee the execution of engagement campaigns with internal (PM, sales) and external (library and asset management) clients
Efficiency
- Drive operational discipline across research production, solution development, and client delivery
- Identify opportunities to scale content and insights across multiple client segments
- Coordinate insights and efforts with other teams to increase awareness
Cross-Functional Integration
- Act as a central integrator across research, solutions, portfolio management, and business development
- Work with team leaders to drive alignment of team resources with client and prospect needs
Coordinate closely with the marketing team on deliverables, timelines, and new campaigns for client growth
- Break down silos and accelerate time-to-market for new ideas and capabilities
Requirements
- 7–15 years of experience in institutional investment management or other financial services
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a high-performance, intellectually rigorous environment
Preferred
- Experience in asset management, research, or portfolio strategy
- Familiarity with insurance asset management
- Prior experience supporting senior leaders in a variety of roles
