Barclays Capital Inc. seeks US Rates Sales – Assistant VP in New York, NY (multiple positions available):
- Participate in and drive client relationship development. Provide customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about US Interest Rate products and services, processing of transactions
- Develop and implement financial models, pricing, and strategies that support decision making in the global markets division. Balance sheet usage, P&L calculations for trades, and regression modeling
- Identification of opportunities and development of business cases for clients within the US Rates business
- Generation of trade ideas, developing creative hybrid trade solutions and macro market commentary to both internal and external sources
- Training and mentoring of junior colleagues
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
- Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for the global markets division
- Trips to see clients outside of New York, such as domestic trips to Florida and international trips to UK and Europe
Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $179,088 per year
Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $180,000 per year

Purpose of the role
To develop and execute sales strategies to generate new business, maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, and achieve revenue targets.
Accountabilities
- Development and maintenance of relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs and objectives.
- Presentation and pitching of financial products and services to clients, tailored to their requirements.
- Liaison between clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth execution of client requests.
- Stay updated on market trends, financial products, and industry regulations.
- Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to provide clients with insights and market updates.
- Negotiation of terms and agreements with clients to finalise sales transactions.
