Sales Development Team Lead

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Sales Development Leader to lead a high-performing SDR team responsible for generating qualified pipeline across the Corporates UKI and European markets. This role combines strategic leadership, talent development and operational excellence, with accountability for pipeline creation, team performance and the development of future sales talent within Thomson Reuters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading sales teams, a passion for developing people and the ability to drive results in a competitive market.
About the Role
In this opportunity as a Sales Development Team Lead you will:
- Lead, coach and develop a team of Sales Development Representatives to meet and exceed pipeline generation targets while ensuring alignment with broader commercial objectives.
- Develop and implement pipeline generation strategies to expand the company’s UKI & European footprint.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimise the pipeline generation strategy, maintaining alignment with broader company objectives.
- Develop and maintain a high-performance culture that focuses on team inclusion, productivity and collaboration.
- Leverage AI-powered tools, CRM insights and market intelligence to improve prospecting effectiveness and team productivity.
- Leverage analytical skills to review & report team performance and inform strategic priorities.
- Develop tailored training and development programs to ensure team members have the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to succeed in their current roles and progress as future Commercial talent
- Partner with HR and sales leadership to attract, recruit and develop diverse, high-calibre sales talent while maintaining a fully staffed team.
- Stay up to date with market & industry trends and new product launches to ensure the team is equipped with the latest insight to support sales efforts.
About You
To be our Sales Development Team Lead you will likely have/be:
- Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a fast-paced complex B2B sales environment, ideally leading, coaching or developing sales development, business development or inside sales teams.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change, drive adoption of new processes and continuously improve team performance.
- Proficiency with CRM, sales engagement and AI-enabled selling tools, including Salesforce.
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends and challenges.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Intellectual curiosity, a desire to continuously learn and improve yourself and those around you.
