Assistant Director, Business Planning & Execution
Summary:
Reporting to the deputy director, the assistant director has responsibility for overseeing strategy, budget, and financial management for the Supervision & Regulation (S&R) division, with oversight responsibility for budget and financial management for the Federal Reserve Supervision function within the Federal Reserve System. The assistant director, Business Planning and Execution (BP&E), provides executive leadership over the Strategic Initiatives section and the Enterprise Resource and Financial Management section.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities:
- Serving as a key executive partner to the S&R senior leadership team to guide the development, operationalization, and monitoring of System-wide strategy. Oversee teams in defining annual priorities, establishing measurable objectives, and assessing performance to drive organization-wide alignment.
- Providing executive governance over the portfolio of initiatives, activities, and investments - including technology programs, strategic projects, and resource allocations - ensuring maximum transparency and alignment with the Supervision & Regulation (S&R) mission.
- Overseeing the Strategic Initiatives team in the development of comprehensive business cases. Ensure the team delivers highly synthesized, decision-ready intelligence that assesses impacts, trade-offs, and strategic alignment for critical leadership go/no-go decisions.
- Directing the creation of strategic materials and governance frameworks (e.g., Board strategic plan, operating plan, and performance reports), ensuring teams facilitate seamless alignment across enterprise-wide stakeholders and decision-making forums.
- Engaging with senior leadership on strategic and financial planning, risk management, policy, and compliance matters; navigate complex data and provide analytics and predictive scenarios that drive action and decision making.
- Providing executive oversight for financial planning operations in close partnership with Board and Reserve Bank finance teams, guaranteeing that all budgets are explicitly aligned with Board and System-wide priorities. Oversee the development and approval of System Supervision function and division budgets and staffing plans.
- Establishing standards for rigorous financial monitoring and analysis, ensuring the BP&E teams accurately forecast trends and deliver actionable, high-level insights to System leadership. Prepare and/or lead analyses and forecasts; design and review operational, accounting, and management reports; propose new approaches and analyses to meet evolving financial and operational issues.
- Mandating and overseeing systems that provide complete visibility into enterprise resource usage and deployment, ensuring rigorous tracking of allocation and utilization to support strategic execution and key investment decisions.
- Providing transparent, timely, and relevant information to the division, the Board's Division of Management and Financial Services and the System Supervision function regarding all financial matters, business processes, and administrative practices.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent experience.

- Experience leading business planning, strategy, budget, and/or financial management programs across a broad, complex enterprise ecosystem.
- Documented experience coordinating, presenting to, and building consensus among highly independent stakeholders, comparable to the complexity of dealing with 12 Reserve Banks, federal board members, and division deputy directors.
- Demonstrated success in providing leadership and oversight for large-scale strategic planning and resource allocation efforts, proving the ability to blend financial governance with overarching business execution.
