Position Summary:
Octagon is seeking a qualified professional to join our high-performing Investor Relations team as an Associate. The Investor Relations team is part of Octagon’s Investor Solutions group, which is responsible for driving growth and strengthening client engagement throughout the investor lifecycle.
The Associate will work independently, and in conjunction with fellow team members and key stakeholders to support the firm’s investor reporting, client service, marketing, communications, and internal reporting efforts. We are looking for an individual who is intellectually curious, collaborative, with outstanding organizational and communication skills. This position offers the potential to assume greater and broader responsibilities within the existing team, and as the firm grows and enters new lines of business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce fund/account reporting packages and other regular investor deliverables, including monthly and quarterly performance updates
- Coordinate, draft, and update responses for due diligence questionnaires, RFPs, and other ad hoc investor requests
- Contribute to the production of monthly performance summaries, slide decks, written commentaries, and other marketing materials
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, prompt delivery, and appropriate recordkeeping of various communications and deliverables
- Develop a strong understanding of Octagon’s strategies, investment products, and market dynamics
- Collaborate with colleagues across teams to obtain, analyze, and synthesize data for use in investor reports, marketing collateral, and other client communications
- Maintain various internal schedules and databases (including CRM), ensuring accuracy and data integrity
- Possess a working knowledge of AI-enabled tools to support the adoption and integration of technology solutions to automate internal processes, improve data management, and enhance client reporting capabilities, as needed/appropriate
- Conduct market research and data analysis for senior management, as needed
- Proactively take on ad hoc projects and provide support for new business initiatives, as needed
Areas of Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience, ideally at an institutional asset management firm, investment bank, or consulting firm
- Ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of the mechanics and dynamics of the corporate debt markets
- Exceptional written and communication skills, able to clearly articulate opinions, product knowledge, and market insights both in writing and when communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent technical and quantitative skills; strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Exemplary attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortability interacting and building relationships across functions (including senior management) within the firm and affiliated organizations, and directly with clients
- Ability to multitask and respond to changing priorities in a time-sensitive environment
- Highly motivated, proactive team player with a positive attitude
