The Director of Operations of the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (FHCF) is responsible for directing all matters related to the financial operations of the FHCF, which includes assisting the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the prudent, effective, and efficient management of the financial and administrative operations of the FHCF and the State Board of Administration (SBA) Finance Corporation. The Director of Operations reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
- Oversees all matters related to the financial operations of the FHCF, including day-to-day operational activities
- Oversees all matters related to the operational activities of the State Board of Administration (SBA) Finance Corporation
- Assists with the activities of the Florida Commission of Hurricane Loss Projection Methodology (Commission)
- Coordinates the activities of the Insurance Capital Build Up Incentive Program
- Coordinates the activities of the Reinsurance to Assist Policyholder (RAP) Program
- Effectively manages human and financial resources
- Develops and implements strategic plans
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Ten years of related experience, with four years of the related experience in a supervisory role. A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of direct experience.
Preferences:
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in insurance, risk management, accounting, finance, mathematics, business, or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant
- Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation
- Experience in insurance, audit, and financial management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance concepts
- Knowledge of auditing and financial management concepts
- Knowledge of debt financing
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Skill in analyzing financial data
- Ability to organize, develop and manage multiple work processes

- Travels occasionally to various locations throughout the United States. Involves work outside normal business hours and working remotely to maintain contact with other and normal office-related duties
