STRS Ohio is seeking a Social Media Engagement Strategist or Senior Social Media and Engagement Strategist to join the Executive/ Communications and Public Affairs team.

Compensation (Grade 9N & 10):
Grade 9N: $32.67 - $39.21/ hr.
Grade 10: $76,458 - $91,749
Work Schedule:
8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday (Onsite)
General Summary (Grade 9N & 10):
Under the direction of the director, Strategic Communications, develop, publish and monitor content for the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio’s (STRS Ohio) social media channels to increase awareness, drive inbound traffic and build an engaged online community. Apply public pension knowledge to create strategies that engage key audiences and use digital analytics and social media tracking tools to evaluate and report results. Write and edit communications and manage special projects for internal and external audiences as assigned.
Summary of Responsibilities (Grade 9N & 10):
- Assist with developing, scheduling and publishing content for STRS Ohio social media channels in accordance with organizational branding, established social media strategies, communication initiatives and strategic goals. (Grade 9N)
- Develop and publish content for STRS Ohio’s social media pages in accordance with organizational branding, social media strategy, current communication initiatives and strategic goals. Maintain the social media calendar and identify relevant content on financial planning, pension industry news, retirement readiness and related topics. (Grade 10)
- Help maintain the social media content calendar and research relevant content related to financial planning, pension industry news, retirement readiness and other assigned topics. (Grade 9N)
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure social media messaging is accurate and relevant to key audiences. Monitor and expand the organization’s social media presence and performance by responding promptly and appropriately to inquiries and posts, tracking content and campaigns with analytics tools, preparing monthly usage reports, and recommending improvements. (Grade 10)
- Use approved analytics and social media tracking tools to collect data, monitor content performance and assist with preparing routine usage and campaign reports. (Grade 9N)
- Edit and proofread assigned print and digital materials for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency and adherence to organizational standards. Verify information for accuracy and coordinate required reviews and approvals. (Grade 9N)
- Stay current on social media trends and monitor the social media activity and content of other public pension systems. (Grade 10)

Summary of Qualifications (Grade 9N & 10):
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, information technology or a related field required. (Grade 9N)
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, IT or a related field required. (Grade 10)
- Three or more years of related experience in social media, communications, marketing, public relations or digital content preferred. (Grade 9N)
- Seven to ten years related experience required. (Grade 10)
- Foundational knowledge of social media content development, publishing and audience-engagement practices required. (Grade 9N)
- Familiarity with major social media platforms and their content, audience and engagement features, as well as social media management, scheduling, analytics and monitoring tools, required. (Grade 9N)
- Ability to learn public pension concepts and terminology and apply that knowledge to assigned communications. (Grade 9N)
- Experience with social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ required. (Grade 10)
- Experience with Buffer and Hootsuite social media management software required. (Grade 10)
- Ability to build constructive and effective business relationships and strong rapport with team members as well as internal and external customers. Competency to work across STRS Ohio departments and with key stakeholders. (Grade 10)
