Evercore is seeking a Benefits Vice President to join the Human Capital Group. Reporting to the Head of Benefits, this role is responsible for supporting the strategic oversight, administration, and continuous improvement of the firm’s U.S. and international benefits programs in Asia, Canada, and Israel. The individual will play a key role in healthcare and wellness strategy, vendor governance, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives.
This position requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional who can operate both strategically and operationally in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Strategy & Administration
- Support the administration and execution of U.S. employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, and wellness programs, as well as international benefit plans in Asia, Canada, and Israel.
- Serve as a primary contributor to U.S. healthcare and wellness strategy, including plan design analysis, cost management initiatives, vendor integration, and wellness program optimization.
- Maintain plan configurations, eligibility, and deductions in HRIS and vendor systems.
- Conduct regular audits and reporting to ensure data integrity, compliance, and deduction accuracy.
- Ensure benefit documentation remains compliant and up to date across all jurisdictions.
Vendor Management & Governance
- Lead vendor onboarding and manage ongoing vendor relationships.
- Oversee contractual obligations, governance standards, service-level expectations, and performance metrics.
- Partner with brokers and consultants to evaluate vendor performance, pricing, and service models.
Annual Renewal & Open Enrollment
- Support and participate in annual U.S. and international benefits renewals in Asia, Canada, and Israel.
- Prepare and validate census data; analyze quotes, plan changes, and cost implications.
- Draft and deliver Open Enrollment materials and communications.
- Provide data-driven insights and financial analysis to inform leadership decision-making.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Support annual compliance filings and ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, and international regulations.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes affecting self-funded and insured benefit plans.
Employee Engagement & Communication
- Develop and implement employee education, communications, and wellness initiatives to enhance engagement and benefits literacy.
- Support onsite wellness events and firmwide benefits programming.
Process Improvement & Special Projects
- Evaluate and enhance internal processes and policies to improve efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness globally.
- Participate in large-scale annual initiatives and ad hoc Benefits and Human Capital projects as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive experience in employee benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of self-funded and fully insured health and welfare plans and applicable regulatory frameworks (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA).
- Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential employee data with discretion.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams in a deadline-driven environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Flexibility to work overtime.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing self-funded health plans and wellness programs.
- Exposure to international benefits administration and plan design.
- Experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Highly collaborative team player with demonstrated leadership capability.
- Self-starter with strong ownership mentality and attention to detail.
- Experience leading projects or managing junior team members.
Expected Base Salary Range: $160,000 - 170,000
This position requires valid United States work authorization and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
