The Opportunity
This role sits within HSBC Global Asset Management’s High Yield Portfolio Management team, supporting the day-to-day management of global, US high yield and high-income strategies. You’ll help translate strategy and credit-specific ideas into portfolios as part of the investment process, working closely with senior portfolio managers. The role spans execution, portfolio monitoring and coordination across trading, credit research, product specialists, and operations to keep accounts running smoothly. You’ll also take ownership of key data and documentation that supports investment decision-making and governance. Success looks like reliable execution, clear portfolio insights and well-supported decisions across high yield and income accounts.
What You'll Be Doing
- Execute and trade daily flows and manage cash in conjunction with the trading team
- Monitor portfolio exposures and positioning against intended credit and macro views and adjust when needed
- Implement strategy and credit-specific ideas into portfolios
- Partner with credit research analysts on relative value, credit and sector positioning, and industry topics
- Support Senior Portfolio Managers across high yield and income accounts and strategies
- Manage regularly scheduled client reporting and respond to ad-hoc requests from internal stakeholders
- Maintain dialogue with operations, performance, and other support teams to ensure smooth running of accounts
What We're Looking For
- Bring proven experience supporting portfolio management for high yield and high-income fixed income strategies
- Demonstrate hands-on capability executing trades, managing flows, and overseeing cash management in portfolios
- Apply established understanding of global fixed income investment processes and related compliance requirements
- Interpret portfolio exposures, positioning, and risk in the context of credit and macro views
- Partner effectively with trading, credit research, product specialists, middle office operations, and other global teams
- Own the organization, analysis and maintenance of investment data used in meetings and decision-making tools
- Produce accurate client reporting and respond to time-sensitive stakeholder requests
- Use Bloomberg and analytics tooling to strengthen workflow efficiency and investment decision support
Strengthening High Yield Outcomes
If you want to help turn investment views into real portfolio positions at scale this role offers a front-row seat to the day-to-day running of global and US high yield strategies. You’ll work across portfolio management, trading and research while building a detailed understanding of how portfolios are governed and managed.
