Sage Advisory Services Ltd. in Austin is hiring an experienced Controller to work directly with the CFO. This position suits a proactive accountant who values collaboration and wants to contribute to a growing company.
As Controller, you’ll oversee core accounting operations, support leadership with accurate financial reporting, and help ensure compliance with regulatory and tax requirements. This is a key role with visibility across the firm and opportunities to contribute to process improvement and long term growth.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage client billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
- Lead month end, quarter end, and year end close and reconciliations
- Prepare internal financial statements and management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Coordinate financial information for regulatory and tax filings
- Oversee payroll, compensation records, and employee benefit programs
- Support vendor billing and contract administration
- Identify accounting or operational issues and recommend solutions
- Help develop and improve accounting policies and procedures
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- 3+ yrs of experience as a Controller or a similar accounting leadership role
- 5–10+ years of combined accounting and finance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; advanced degree preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset
- High level of ownership, accuracy, and attention to detail
