Overview
Jefferies' Municipal Investment Banking team is seeking an Analyst to support senior bankers covering state and local government issuers and public-sector clients. The role focuses on executing municipal bond financings and providing analytical, marketing, and transaction support across a variety of public finance sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support municipal bond transactions from origination through closing.
- Build and analyze financial models, debt profiles, refunding analyses, and credit metrics.
- Prepare pitch books, proposals, presentations, and other client-facing materials.
- Conduct issuer, industry, and capital markets research, including comparable transaction analysis.
- Draft transaction documents, rating agency presentations, and pricing analyses.
- Coordinate with internal partners (Sales & Trading, Syndicate, Capital Markets) and external parties (issuers, financial advisors, legal counsel, and rating agencies).
- Maintain databases and support restructuring and refinancing analyses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with strong academic performance.
- 6 months – 2 years of experience preferred in investment banking, public finance, capital markets, or related financial advisory roles.
- Strong financial modeling and quantitative analysis skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated interest in municipal capital markets and public finance.
