We are seeking a senior Private Equity & Credit SME to embed onsite with a leading private markets client in New York and lead the domain side of a flagship AI initiative: the automated generation of Investment Committee (IC) memos using an enterprise AI solution. Acting as the "human-in-the-loop" domain expert, the SME will teach the AI what a strong IC memo looks like, curate the training corpus, validate outputs against IC-grade quality standards, and serve as the bridge between the client's investment teams and Acuity's offshore AI/delivery team. The role spans both private equity and private credit; as credit write-ups and committee materials are structurally different from PE memos, experience across both deal types is important.
Key Responsibilities
- Anchor the IC memo AI workstream onsite – serve as the onsite domain lead across both private equity and private credit, partnering with the client's investment, AI, and PE/Private Credit teams and Acuity engagement leads to translate their deal and underwriting expertise into the prompts, templates, and evaluation criteria used to train the AI
- Curate and govern the training corpus – identify, tag, and validate the right historical IC memos, credit write-ups, CIMs, management presentations, financial models, and diligence reports that form the system's learning layer, and define ingestion rules across the client's full historical footprint and active deal corpus, prioritising the inputs that drive the greatest gains in output quality and accuracy
- Design memo frameworks and prompt architecture – build section-by-section templates that mirror the client's house style and structure, maintaining distinct frameworks for PE IC memos and credit committee materials, and develop and iterate prompt strategies to maximise the accuracy, coherence, and consistency of generated output across deal types
- Own the full IC memo section architecture – define, prompt-engineer, and QA each section so it meets IC-grade standards, covering the executive summary and recommendation, investment thesis, company overview, market and competitive landscape, financial analysis, valuation and returns, value creation plan, diligence summary, risk register and mitigants, ESG and responsible investing, exit strategy, and appendices
- Build the private credit memo architecture – adapt the templates, prompts, and evaluation criteria to the client's private credit write-ups and committee materials, which are structurally different from PE memos, reflecting credit-specific content such as borrower and business overview, capital-structure and leverage analysis, covenant package and structuring, downside/recovery and stress scenarios, and credit risk assessment
- Support ongoing credit monitoring use cases – extend the framework to recurring private credit deliverables such as quarterly portfolio reviews, borrower-performance tracking, and covenant-compliance summaries, helping standardise these for AI-assisted generation
- Quality-assure AI outputs – apply structured evaluation rubrics to every AI-generated draft, scoring each on factual accuracy, completeness against the template, investment logic, quantitative rigour, clarity and adherence to the firm's preferred memo style and format, risk identification, and source/citation accuracy, and drive the solution toward the agreed accuracy target through iterative feedback loops to Acuity's engineering team
- Partner with stakeholders and lead knowledge transfer – work closely with the client's AI, IT/InfoSec, PE, and Credit stakeholders, and document SOPs, edge cases, and human-override pathways so the workflow can be handed over cleanly to Acuity's offshore support pod and the client's internal users for ongoing use
Key Competencies
- 8–12+ years of direct private markets investment experience across private equity and/or private credit (a senior professional at a mid-/upper-mid-market PE or credit fund, or a senior deal-execution role at a leading investment bank or advisory firm)
- Proven track record of authoring and presenting IC memos and/or credit write-ups across multiple closed transactions
- Deep fluency across the full PE deal lifecycle (sourcing → diligence → IC approval → portfolio value creation → exit), and a working understanding of the private credit lifecycle (underwriting → credit approval → ongoing portfolio and covenant monitoring)
- Valid US work authorisation (visa) and ability to work onsite in New York for the full engagement
- Demonstrated comfort with enterprise LLMs (Claude, GPT-class or similar) and structured prompting techniques
- Exceptional written communication and the gravitas to engage senior AI, PE, and Credit leadership directly
- Strongly preferred: hands-on experience across both private equity and private credit (e.g. direct lending, CLOs, or leveraged credit); exposure to agentic / RAG-based AI architectures; familiarity with enterprise content platforms (e.g. Egnyte or similar); sector depth in one or more core verticals (Healthcare, Software, Business Services, Financial Services, Industrials); prior consulting / KPO / managed-services delivery experience
- An MBA and/or CFA, and exposure to similar AI-for-IC projects, would be an advantage
