Position Overview
The Operations Associate will work directly alongside the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to support the firm’s end-to-end daily investment operations. Operating within a lean, agile team structure, this role offers extensive front-to-back exposure to operational, accounting, and compliance workflows.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to take ownership across multiple functional areas within a high-performing asset manager.
Key Responsibilities
Core Trade Support & Operations
- Manage daily trade settlement, trade support, and lifecycle events across all asset classes.
- Perform daily cash, position, and collateral reconciliations between internal OMS systems, prime brokers, and counterparties.
- Review daily trade blotters within the OMS (Eze Eclipse) to verify proper booking, routing, and allocations.
- Execute daily P&L reconciliations and produce end-of-day (EOD) performance and risk reporting.
- Maintain internal accounting systems, ensuring accurate entry of trades, corporate actions, and transactions.
Reporting, Controls & Infrastructure
- Compile documentation and analytics for quarterly Best Execution committee meetings.
- Track, analyze, and report on commissions and soft dollar arrangements while identifying areas to streamline workflows.
- Partner with leadership to design and implement enhanced operational controls, automated data aggregation tools, and workflow efficiencies.
- Spearhead ad hoc operational initiatives, including system implementations, platform integrations, and operational due diligence (ODD) reviews.
Investor Relations & Fund Administration Support
- Coordinate with the third-party fund administrator and investor services teams on reporting, subscriptions, and redemptions.
- Assist in updating monthly/quarterly investor marketing collateral, performance factsheets, and DDQs.
- Support timely responses to institutional investor inquiries and custom reporting requests.
Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Experience: 2–5 years of relevant middle-office, trade support, or fund accounting experience within a hedge fund, asset manager, prime broker, or fund administrator.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Systems & Tools: Hands-on experience with hedge fund OMS/EMS platforms (experience with Eze Eclipse or similar platforms like Enfusion, Geneva, or Bloomberg AIM is strongly preferred); advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
