Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of platform engineers and DevOps specialists
- Architect and manage secure, resilient, cost-efficient cloud infrastructure, primarily AWS with some Azure
- Drive CI/CD strategy and lead an ongoing pipeline migration
- Establish infrastructure-as-code standards using CDK, GitLab, and AWS developer tools
- Strengthen monitoring, logging, and alerting to improve platform reliability and observability
- Partner with business users to translate their needs into scalable technical solutions, explaining technical decisions clearly to non-technical audiences
- Contribute hands-on through reference implementations and coding (about 35% of the role)
Requirements
- 13+ years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering, including 7+ years in team leadership
- Deep, hands-on AWS expertise across ECS/Fargate, EC2, containers, serverless, and IaC
- Strong CI/CD experience with GitLab, Jenkins, or similar
- Working knowledge of observability tools such as ELK, Dynatrace, or Datadog
- Financial services experience strongly preferred (asset managers, hedge funds, broker/dealers)
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to tailor the message to any audience
- BS in Computer Science or a related field
