Responsibilities
- Own the firm’s third-party data ecosystem, commercial relationships, spend governance, entitlements, and long-term sourcing decisions
- Build monitoring frameworks, investigate data anomalies, and drive lasting fixes in partnership with engineering
- Translate front office and operations requirements into clear technical briefs, bridging business and engineering
- Lead firm-wide data programmes end-to-end, objectives, workstreams, stakeholder alignment, and delivery accountability
- Evaluate and pilot emerging data providers against existing infrastructure and investment workflows
- Conduct quantitative analysis using code to surface inefficiencies and support operational and strategic decisions
- Shape how proprietary and third-party data is ingested, normalised, and consumed across investment teams
Requirements
- 8+ years in data-intensive financial services roles; hedge fund or institutional investment experience strongly preferred
- Confident hands-on coder — able to write and maintain analytical scripts and pipelines independently
- Deep knowledge of external financial data platforms, pricing services, back-office feeds, and their commercial frameworks
- Proven ability to extract nuanced requirements from senior investment stakeholders and deliver structured outcomes
- Track record steering complex, multi-team technology programmes at pace with competing priorities
- Fluent across asset classes — rates, credit, commodities, listed derivatives, and digital assets
- Practical cloud infrastructure experience and familiarity with modern data platform tooling
- Equally comfortable in a strategy conversation or elbow-deep in a dataset
