JOB PURPOSE:
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate (2–4 years' experience) to join our Portfolio Companies & Value Creation Services team in New York.
The successful candidate will work directly with Private Equity Operating Partners, Value Creation teams, portfolio company executives, and Acuity's global delivery teams to support commercial, operational, and analytics-led value creation initiatives.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of strategic and operational projects across industries and provides an excellent opportunity to build expertise at the intersection of Private Equity, strategy consulting, business analytics, and value creation.
The individual will play a critical role in supporting client engagements, developing actionable insights, managing project workstreams, and helping portfolio companies improve performance throughout the investment lifecycle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Portfolio Value Creation Support: Support value creation initiatives across portfolio companies by conducting analyses, developing insights, and helping drive execution of strategic priorities. Areas of focus include:
- Revenue growth acceleration
- Pricing and profitability improvement
- Customer segmentation and customer analytics
- Sales effectiveness and commercial optimization
- Operational efficiency improvement
- Working capital optimization
- Procurement and cost reduction initiatives
- AI, digital, and analytics transformation initiatives
Commercial Analytics & Business Performance Analysis: Support client engagements through data-driven analysis and business intelligence initiatives. Responsibilities include:
- Analyzing customer, product, channel, and geographic performance
- Conducting profitability and pricing analyses
- Identifying growth opportunities and performance gaps
- Developing dashboards and management reporting frameworks
- Supporting forecasting and performance monitoring exercises
- Tracking value creation initiatives against investment objectives
Private Equity Deal Support: Support PE clients throughout the investment lifecycle by providing analytical and research support. Responsibilities include:
- Investment Evaluation Support
- Commercial due diligence support
- AI and digital maturity assessments
- 100-day planning support
- Portfolio monitoring and governance reporting
- Exit readiness assessments
- Value creation story development
- Datacube and reporting preparation
Project Delivery & Execution Support: Work closely with engagement managers and senior leadership to ensure successful project delivery. Responsibilities include:
- Gathering and organizing client requirements
- Developing analytical models and business cases
- Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Preparing executive-level presentations and reports
- Coordinating with offshore and nearshore delivery teams
- Ensuring high-quality client deliverables
Client & Stakeholder Management: Support client-facing interactions with Private Equity and portfolio company stakeholders. Responsibilities include:
- Preparing materials for client meetings
- Supporting workshops and working sessions
- Managing communication across project stakeholders
- Supporting relationship-building activities
- Assisting senior team members in maintaining strong client relationships. Key stakeholders may include:
- PE Operating Partners
- Value Creation Teams
- Investment Professionals
- Portfolio Company CEOs, CFOs, Chief Commercial Officers, Functional Leaders
Business Development & Proposal Support: Support growth initiatives within Acuity's Portfolio Value Creation practice. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting market and account research
- Identifying portfolio company opportunities
- Supporting proposal and pitch development
- Preparing credentials and capability presentations
- Tracking PE industry trends and portfolio activity
- Supporting thought leadership initiatives
Research & Knowledge Development: Contribute to the continuous development of Acuity's intellectual capital. Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring Private Equity market trends
- Tracking value creation best practices
- Supporting development of proprietary frameworks
- Creating case studies and knowledge assets
- Contributing to research publications and thought leadership
KEY COMPETENCIES:
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in consulting, PE research, strategy, analytics, or transformation programs
- MBA, CFA, or Master's degree preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint\
- Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Python preferred
